Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Tangent (the "Service") operated by Tangent Global ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account.

2. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced via e‑mail or in‑app notice at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

3. Account Registration

You agree to provide accurate, current information and to safeguard your login credentials. Notify us immediately at legal@tangent.global of any unauthorized use.

4. Subscriptions, Billing & Auto‑Renewal

• Plans. Free Tier (limited features); Full Access – Monthly – $49.99 USD/mo; Full Access – Annual – $499.99 USD/yr.
• Payments are processed by Stripe; we never store full card details.
• Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled via the Stripe customer portal.
• Refunds: 30 days from purchase.

5. License & Intellectual Property

Company grants you a limited, non‑exclusive license to use the Service for personal, non‑commercial purposes. All content is owned by Company or its licensors.

6. User Content

Any content you submit (comments, custom word lists, etc.) remains yours, but you grant Company a worldwide, royalty‑free license to use it in connection with the Service.

7. Prohibited Conduct

• No credential sharing
• No scraping, reverse‑engineering, or malicious code
• No IP infringement or harassment
• No attempts to bypass access controls or geoblocking

8. Third‑Party Services

The Service integrates with Stripe (payments), Supabase (database), Render (database), Vercel (hosting), and Cloudflare Stream (video). Their separate terms apply.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for any breach. Sections 5, 10–15 survive termination.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." Company disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted, Company's total liability will not exceed the greater of (a) US $100 or (b) amounts paid by you in the 12 months prior to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Company from any claims arising out of your misuse of the Service.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, U.S.A. without regard to its conflict‑of‑law rules. You and Company agree that the exclusive venue for any dispute arising from or relating to the Service shall be the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you waive any objection to personal jurisdiction or forum non conveniens in those courts.

14. Export & Sanctions Compliance

You certify you are not located in a U.S.‑embargoed country or on a U.S. sanctions list.

15. Assignment

You may not assign your rights under these Terms without prior written consent; Company may assign as part of a merger or asset sale.
